Russia to criticize Saakashvili at PACE session

Alexey Pushkov, head of the Russian parliamentary committee for international affairs and Russian representative to the PACE, said that Russia will highlight the composition of a report on human rights violations in Georgia during the presidency of Mikheil Saakashvili, who will also attend the upcoming January session.

This includes prison torture, the consequences of demonstrations in April 2012 when four people were found dead on a house roof and the investigation into the murder of Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania in February 2005.

Pushkov noted that Russia may initiate preparations of reports on investigations into the cases in April. He plans to meet the head of the Georgian parliamentary committee for international relations.
The PACE will hear a report on the humanitarian situation in the Russian-Georgian conflict zone. The document calls Abkhazia and South Ossetia territories of Georgia.

Pushkov said that Russia will support Azerbaijan in the case of the deaths of 14 political convicts in December 2012 after their release.

Russia will support Serbia in the Kosovo dispute.
