Rapid Trident 2013: VIP-Day

The representatives of leadership of Armed Forces of Ukraine (First Deputy Chief of General Staff Admital Ihor Kabanenko, Land Forces Commander Colonel General Henadiy Vorobyov) and the military representatives of countries participating in Rapid Trident 2013, as well as the representatives of diplomatic corps, local administration have visited the International Peacekeeping andSecurity Center in Yavoriv, Lviv Oblast, today.

Major General Vyacheslav Nazarkin told the guests about organization and procedure of Rapid Trident 2013.

The guests viewed the infrastructure of the center, as well as its administrative and training facilities, viewed accommodation, sports and recreation activities of the exercises participants.

Then, the guests went to the range and observed the evolutions of the troops. They were also represented the MILES system used for combat training of the Ukrainian personnel. The Ukrainian instructors demonstrated their EOD skills.

At the end of the visit, the guests gave briefing for mass media.

Colonel General Henadiy Vorobyov remarked these exercises give Ukraine the possibility to learn the experience of other countries troops to implement it in training of peacekeeping contingents.

“It’s a great virtue to achieve interoperability of troops of different countries. If we know how to complete tasks together during such exercises, our job will be effective in real combat situation,” underlined Colonel General Henadiy Vorobyov.
