Throughput of Russian seaports up 3.9% to 589 mln t in 2013

In 2013, Russian seaports handled 589 mln t of cargo (+3.9%, year-on-year), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit climbed by 1.6% to 255.7 mln t including 101.1 mln t of coal (+13.3%), 44.4 mln t of containerized cargo (+4.1%), 12.9 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+24.0%), 7.4 mln t of ore (+2.8%). Transshipment of ferrous metal dropped to 22 mln t (-14.0%), grin – to 18.3 mln t (-23.4%), timber – to 4.4 mln t(-25.9%). 

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo hit 333.3 mln t (+5.7%) including 207.5 mln t of crude oil (+4.6%).

Transshipment of export cargo increased by 2.8%, year-on-year, to 460.1 mln t, import cargo transshipment was 48.4 mln t (+7.3%), transit cargo transshipment – 44.5 mln t (+4.6%), coastal trade cargo - 36 mln t (+13.2%).

Operators of the Arctic Basin handled 46.2 mln t of cargo (+19.2%, year-on-year) including 24.6 mln t of dry cargo (+3.1%) and 21.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 1.4 times). The growth of liquid bulk transshipment was driven by the increase of Belokamenka terminal throughput. Total throughput of port Murmansk hit 31.4 mln t (+32.5%), Varandey – 5.4 mln t (up 1.7 times). Throughput of port Arkhangelsk dropped by 14.3% to 4.4 mln t, port Vitino – by 39.6% to 2.3 mln t.

The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 215.8 mln t (+4.1%) including 82.1 mln t of dry cargo (+8.8%), 133.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.4%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 62.7 mln t (+33.8%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 58 mln t (+0.3%), Vysotsk - 16.2 mln t (+18.5%), Kaliningrad - 13.7 mln t (+7.5%), Primorsk - 63.8 mln t (-14.6%).

Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports fell by 1.3%, year-on-year, to 174.4 mln t including 62.5 mln t of dry cargo (-9.6%) and 111.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.0%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 112.6 mln t (-4.1%), Tuapse - 17.7 mln t (-0.4%), Rostov-on-Don - 10.8 mln t (-1.7%), Kavkaz - 7.9 mln t (-15.7%), Taman - 9.5 mln t (up 2.6 times due to liquid bulk cargo).

The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 7.8 mln t (-21.6%, year-on-year) including 3 mln t of dry cargo (-33.8%) and 4.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-11.1%). Throughput of port Makhachkala fell by 14.7%, Astrakhan – by 25.5%, Olya - 2.5 times.

Seaports of the Far East Basin handled 144.8 mln t of cargo (+7.8%) including 83.4 mln t of dry cargo (+6.1%) and 61.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+10.1%). Port Vostochny handled 48.3 mln t (+13.5%), Vanino - 23.8 mln t (+16.8%), Nakhodka - 18.4 mln t (+8.1%), Vladivostok - 14.5 mln t (+10.0%), De-Castri  -  7 mln t (-4.9%), Posiet - 5.6 mln t (–3.0%), Prigorodnoye - 16.3 mln t (-0.8%).
