Ukrainian military seamen practice protection and defense of Western Navy Base

Tactical trainings with the Western Navy Base personnel, Ukrainian Navy, have started in Odessa within the exercise Perspective 2012.

For over two weeks the military seamen will be practicing arrangement of protection and defense of the Navy base from underwater diversions and terrorist acts.

Also the personnel will execute restocking of artillery ammunition with practical delivery of minesweeping equipment to battleships.

According to Executive Officer – First Deputy Western Navy Base Commander Captain 2nd rank Igor Zaitsev, the training major efforts are aimed at improvement of professionalism and testing of advanced troops leading procedures.
