Sea Breeze 2013: Ukrainian paratroopers learn best practice of Allied forces

The units of the Ukrainian-U.S. Exercise Sea Breeze 2013 conducted the practical parachute jumping and completed tactical tasks.

The Ukrainian party was represented by marine recon and airborne platoons. This training was aimed at adopting the Allied forces practice: the personnel landed from German C-160 transport aircraft by means of Bundeswehr T-10 parachute system with special containers for armament and equipment at low altitudes.

Before these evolutions, the German instructors provided special exercises to teach the features of this parachute system and some training in the aircraft.

The marine recon platoon completed jumps at the defined landing site, completed reconnaissance and found the camp of illegal armed formation. The airborne platoon completed landing and destroyed the ‘enemy’ base.

These evolutions were the final stage of paratroopers’ preparation for participation in one of the episodes of exercise active phase to be held at military range Shyrokyi Lan.
