EU Ambassador Tombinski: Crisis should be solved through dialogue and political means
The EU is following today's events in Kyiv with great concern and stresses the need to resolve the current crisis peacefully, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski said in a statement on Monday.
"The current crisis should be solved through dialogue and political means," Tombinski said, urging the Ukrainian government to respect the freedom and expression and assembly confirmed by its international commitments.
"We would like to remind the Ukrainian authorities that the unjustified use of force and riot police against peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable," reads the statement.
