Benelux foreign Ministers coming to Moldova

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Benelux nations –  Reynders (Belgium), Frans Timmermans (Netherlands) and Jean Asselborn (Luxemburg) will visit Chisinau on September 5 on the invitation of the Moldovan Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman.

According to the Moldovan foreign ministry, the coming of the high-ranked representatives of the three European Union founder states in the run-up to the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Vilnius next November is called to confirm support for the program of reforms in Moldova that are necessary for achieving Euro-integration and are aimed at ensuring a better future for Moldova citizens.

Moldova has thus become the first Eastern Partnership participant country to receive the Benelux Foreign Ministers in the tripartite format.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration believes that the visit will confirm the continuity of the political and diplomatic dialog called to deepen friendship and cooperation between Moldova and Benelux countries, and to promote important questions of bilateral agenda.

The Benelux Ministers will hold meetings with Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Chairman Igor Corman, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Deputy Premier Natalia Gherman.

At the end of the visit, the high Benelux guests and Natalia Gherman will give a joint news conference.
