Gezi Park protests leave a police captain dead in Adana

Captain Sari, who intervened in a group of illegal demonstrators, died after being severely injured.

Police captain Mustafa Sari, who was severely injured while intervening in a group of illegal demonstrators in southern Adana province, died on Thursday.

Sari was severely injured after falling to a construction site of a subway.

Governor of Adana Huseyin Avni Cos said that Sari could not be saved despite all efforts.

The protests, which started in reaction to a construction project in Gezi Park in Taksim district of Istanbul, spread to several other cities.
