Over 300 Moldovan economic agents will display their products, services and achievements during the 12th issue of the national exhibition «Made in Moldova», which will take place at the exhibition centre «Moldexpo», in Chisinau, on 30 January-2 February.

The exhibition is organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in cooperation with the Economics Ministry, under the government’s patronage.

Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Valeriu Lazar said this exhibition starts a new string of economic activities, which the government in partnership with other organisations, namely, the CCI, has planned to implement. According to Lazar, «Made in Moldova» offers economic agents an opportunity to exhibit their products and services and enjoy a mutual dialogue platform.

Lazar said the International Investment Conference, entitled «Moldova- new partnership opportunities», is one of the exhibition’s most important components. Participants in the conference will discuss seven main sectors, including the agricultural-food industry, informational technologies and telecommunications, renewable energy, sustainable constructions, textile industry, logistics and transports and tourism. The same conference will host 15 roundtables, workshops, presentations, during which participants will discuss the enhancement of the goods’ competitiveness, via increasing energy efficiency and drawing investments. Lazar has also said participants will tackle the impact a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with the EU may have on Moldovan producers as well as issues related to small business lending.

For his part, the head of the CCI, Gheorghe Cucu said the national exhibition «Made in Moldova» is meant to increase the industrial and technological potential of Moldovan enterprises, develop business, consolidate trade and market infrastructure as well as contribute to the successful enforcement of the programme «European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare 2011-2014». Companies from Chisinau and Balti municipalities as well as from 15 Moldovan districts, including Anenii Noi, Falesti, Criuleni, Cimislia, Calarasi, Briceni, Ungheni and Hincesti districts and Moldova's southern Gagauz autonomy, will participate in the exhibition. According to Cucu, visitors will participate in presentations, tastings and lotteries, whereas the best presentations and services will be awarded with the golden medal of the national exhibition.

The winners of the contest «Trademark of the year» will be awarded prizes during an official ceremony on 31 January. A total of 82 economic agents participated in the contest and displayed 97 trademarks.
