Regional carrier to be developed in North and South Caucasus Federal Districts

President of the Board of Directors of the Resorts of the North Caucasus Ahmed Bilalov said that in the near future a regional airline will be created in southern Russia. The Ministry of Transport is already considering the idea.

Bilalov said that the new carrier will most probably be founded on the basis of an already existing airline.

The Resorts of the North Caucasus, a company in charge of the development of tourist cluster in southern Russia was planning to ask for about 100 billion rubles in state grants for a project which would allow linking all major resorts and cities of the region such as Krasnodar, Stavropol, Sochi, Nalchik, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Makhachkala, Lagonaki, Arkhyz, Matlas, Derbent and Maikop with air transportation.
