Georgia got 55 points in the open budget index

The Georgian open budget index got 55 points out of the 100-point scale in the 2012 report of the US-established organization «International Budget Partnership», Business Georgia reports.

Such information has been announced at the press conference of Eka Gigauri, Executive Manager of the nongovernmental organization Transparency International Georgia. According to her, this means that the Georgian Government provides the country’s citizens with only a part of the information, related to the State Budget and the financial activities of the country.

Out of 8 countries, surveyed in the Central Asia region, Georgia is ranked second after the Russian Federation in the open budget index. However, the Georgian index for 2012 is equal to the 2010 index - 55.
