Protest in Yalta against destruction of the "Magarach" institute South Coast branch

Scientific Society of Ukraine’s viticulturists and winemakers, employees of the National Institute of Viticulture and Wine Making "Magarach" and the public of Yalta plan to hold a protest action against the destruction of the “Magarach” Institute South Coast branch.

By now, the developmental winery at Otradnoye township in Greater Yalta has been completely dismantled: the filling line, as well as tuns and tanks for storing wine and all content of Madeira wine storage has been moved to Bakhchysaray district, where agricultural firm "Magarach" (formerly Predgornoye branch of the Institute) is located. On November 13, last bottles of unique wine collection of the National Institute of Viticulture and Wine "Magarach" left historical cellars and were transported to Livadia.

The Institute’s employees say that next week construction machinery will appear on the territory of the winery at Otradnoye: factory buildings will be demolished, cellars filled up.

The protest action will take place on Monday, December 10, near "Magarach" Institute buildings in Yalta from noon to 1 p.m.
