Construction of a terminal in the Black Sea will start on November 26

Ukraine’s government is implementing a programme of raising the country’s energy independence through the diversification of energy supply routes and sources and through increasing domestic production.

Therefore, Ukraine considers Caspian region countries as important partners for the diversification of energy supply routes and sources and for the implementation of joint energy projects. Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Mr. Yuriy Boyko said about this, speaking at the Atlantic Council summit on energy and economics.

This month Ukraine is starting to implement National Project «LNG-terminal», which will open for the country access to global market of liquefied natural gas, and new opportunities for cooperation in the Black Sea-Caspian region.

«On November 26, construction of the terminal will begin and because we employ the latest technology the work will go fast. It will be a floating plant, to which tankers will moor, and this will enable to greatly speed up the process of construction and gas reception», - the Minister said.
