Oil transit through Ukraine grows by a third in June

Oil transit through Ukraine in June 2013 amounted to 1.258 million tons, which was 337,200 tons, or 36.6%, more than in June 2012, according to the website of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.

In the first half of the year, oil transit through Ukrainian territory rose by 432,400 tons, or 6.1%, compared to the same period in 2012, to 7.466 million tons.

Oil and gas condensate production in Ukraine in the first half of 2013 amounted to 1.541 million tons, which was 96,900 tons, or 59%, less than in the same period in 2012. In June 2013, Ukrainian companies produced 250,000 tons of oil, which was 19,700 tons, or 7.3%, less than a year ago.

Oil deliveries to Ukrainian refineries shrank by 46,600 tons (15.8%) in June 2013 and 926,300 tons (37.7%) in the first six months of 2013 year-over-year, to 247,900 tons and 1.527 million tons respectively. The supply of imported oil to Ukrainian refineries in the first half of the year fell to 211,100 tons, while in June oil was not imported.

Refining of crude oil at refineries in Ukraine and the Shebelynka gas processing plant in the first half of the year almost halved compared to January-June 2012, to 1.518 million tons. In June 2013, refineries processed 241,000 tons of crude oil, which was 63,200 tons, or 20.8%, less than a year ago.
