Moldovan customs service doubles revenues against 2009

The Moldovan Customs Service (CS) brought revenues of 6.4 billion lei to the state budget in 1H2013, which is twice more than against the budgetary receipts recorded in the equivalent period of 2009.

According to data of the Customs Service, in January-June 2010, the CS ensured budgetary revenues of 4.2 billion lei, in 2011 – of 5.2 billion lei and in 2012 – of 5.57 billion lei.

Employees of the Customs Service explain the increase in the tax receipts by the measures undertaken for combating tax evasions, as well as by the facilitation of the customs procedures.

“Increasing the tax receipts is among the main priorities of the Customs Service,” said CS representatives. According to them, besides the enhancement of its control duties, the Customs Service is developing partnership relations with the national business environment and with the civil society, for indentifying new solutions for the advancement of external trade. The tax receipts transferred by the Customs ensure two thirds of Moldova’s state budget.
