Georgian Airways stopped flying to Kyiv

Georgian airline company Georgian Airways has stopped flying to Kyiv. Company’s flights from Tbilisi and Batumi to Kyiv have disappeared from the booking system, and the booking department of the company has confirmed that flights to Kyiv are currently not performed.

Georgian Airways, also known as Air Zena, renewed Kyiv-Tbilisi flights in December 2012 after a two-year break. The flights were performed to Zhuliany airport, trans-port.com.ua informs.

During the peak season 5 airlines were flying from Kyiv to Georgia: Georgian Airways, UTair Ukraine, Wizz Air Ukraine, UIA, and FlyGeorgia.

In the last several weeks the latter two were selling round-trip tickets at a price of approximately 1 thousand hryvnya. The oversaturation of the market, as well as the price war could become the factors, due to which the Georgian air carrier stopped flying to Kyiv.

Some time ago UTair Ukraine had also stopped performing its flights between Kyiv and Tbilisi.
