Moldova will not receive final US$76M tranche from IMF – sources

Moldova will not receive the last tranche of US$76.3 million, within the three-year financing program with the International Monetary Fund, according to some sources, which are closely familiar with this situation.

«Moldova will not receive the tranche, as the program will end on Monday, April 29 and no IMF Assessment Mission has arrived to the country in order to ascertain the fulfillment of the commitments and the successful completion of the Sixth Review of the program,» said a source who avoided disclosing identity.

The source said that no decision on the extension of the cooperation program has been taken. Moreover, asked whether negotiations on a new memorandum of cooperation are being held, the sources gave a negative answer, explaining this by the ongoing political crisis in the county.
