Ukraine may export additional 800 thousand tons of wheat

Given the good condition of winter crops in the current marketing year Ukraine may export 500-800 thousand tons of wheat more. This said the President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko at a conference «Black Sea Grain: Export Forever», Latifundist.com reports.

The expert recalled that last year between traders and the government was signed a memorandum on maintenance of a consistent balance of wheat until the moment when it will be clear whether winter crops survive. «The agreement was withstood» - said Leonid Kozachenko.

«The government did not introduce a formal limit on exports, and this is a big plus. Now we know that winter crops survived quite successfully. Over the last 50 years there was no such case that we have only 275 hectares of winter crops was doubtful and does not require replanting, just reseeding, »- said the president of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko.

According to him, there are no concerns about the shortage of wheat.
