OSCE opens election observation office in Bulgaria

The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has opened an election observation mission on April 17 to monitor the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria to be held on May 12.

The mission employs observers from 19 countries whose task is to assess the early parliamentary elections for compliance with OSCE commitments and other international standards for democratic elections, as well as with domestic legislation.
