Number of Syrian refugees to reach million in Turkey

The number of Syrian refugees in Turkey may total a million people at the end of the year, Hurriyet cites Carol Bachelor, spokeswoman of the UN High Commission for Refugees.

The commission predicted that the number of refugees would total 1.1 million in June 2013.

Turkey and other states of the region are unprepared for such refugee flow.

Turkey has about 350,000 Syrian refugees. 191,000 of them are located in special camps.
