Georgian president will not be invited for Independence Day

Georgian Vice Speaker of Parliament Manana Kobakhidze said on April 15 that President Saakashvili will not be invited to mark the Independence Day on May 26, Georgia Online reports.

She noted that the president had the right to attend any celebrations and make a speech. The program for the Independence Day has not been set yet. A military parade is planned, the official says.

The vice speaker added that the celebrations should be organized in regions and not just Tbilisi.

The Georgian Presidential Administration has not received any messages on the topic yet.
