In 2012 almost every third young Bulgarian is a university graduate

Around 30% of the Bulgarians in the 30-34 age bracket have graduated in 2012. That figure places Bulgaria in the middle of the list of Eurostat in view of education under the Europe 2020 Strategy.

The aim of the Strategy is for at least 40% of young people in the EU in that age group to have a university degree by 2020. The Eurostat figures coincide with data provided by the National Statistical Institute, informing that in 2012 young Bulgarians in the 30-34 age group have been around 1 million and some 300 thousand of them are university graduates, which again equals 30 percent.
