«Ukrferry» to cut down the price for railcar and truck transportation to Georgia

The term of validity for a «winter surcharge» for transportation of loaded railcars and automobile vehicles by sea ferries for the Illichivsk-Poti/Batumi route will expire on April 15. Such information has been announced by the press service of the ferry-boat company «Ukrferry».

Such measure for the Georgian route was prolonged on March 31 due to tough navigation conditions, Business Georgia reports.

The «winter surcharge» for transportation of loaded railcars in the amount of $100 per railcar (excluding the ones with cargoes, on which shipping company have agreed upon special fares in addition to tariffs) has been charged since November 15, 2012. Starting from February 1 such measure was introduced for trucks, buses, truck and trailers, and other roll-on wheel vehicles. The transportation company needed all these accumulated funds for compensation of anti-ice measures.
