Turkey becomes regional transportation bridge

Turkish Minister for Energy Taner Yildiz has described achievements of the country at the World Economic Forum.

The minister said that Turkey had restructured its energy sector in the past 10 years, doubled the GDP and gained world recognition at the energy market. Turkey realizes the South Stream project with Russia, the Trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project with Azerbaijan, cooperates with Iran and Iraq.

The country became an energy transportation bridge for the region, linking industry in Asia with European consumer markets. Turkey participates in the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum transportation projects.
