Turkish court cancels circular banning alcohol in public places

A court in the Turkish province of Afyonkarahisar has canceled a circular issued last year, which prohibits consumption of alcohol in public spaces, Hurriyet Daily News reports on March 27.

The court said that the ban had no legal basis, the news agency informs.

Governor Irfan Balkanlıoğlu signed the document on April 27, 2012.
