President of Israel is ready to meet with his Turkish counterpart

The President of Israel, Shimon Peres has reiterated that he may soon visit Ankara and hold talks with the President of Turkey.

«We have never interrupted relations with Turkey. Maybe we can meet in Ankara with the Turkish President in the near future,» Perez said in an interview to CNN Turk, noting that the time for the normalization of relations between Israel and Turkey has come. The countries have been strategic partners in the past, but have been previously alienated due to the reorientation of Turkey's foreign policy from the European integration to the strengthening of its position in the Arab-Muslim world.

Earlier, the prime minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he might visit Gaza in April.
