Romania may start purchases of the Turkmen natural gas

Turkmenistan is now negotiating on the liquefied gas supplies to Romania, Georgia Online informs.

Turkmenistan State Service of the Sea and River Transport studies the possibility for liquefied gas transportation in special containers to Baku Port in Azerbaijan, and then to the ports of Batumi or Poti (Georgia) by railway transport. Then these containers could be delivered to Romania by sea.

In addition to that, Turkmenistan has shown the high-level interest to AGRI has pipeline project, providing for the delivery of the liquefied Caspian gas to Romania via the Black Sea coast of Georgia.

The gas-processing facility, operated in Naipa and Bagadja, produced 144 thousand tons of liquefied gas in 2012.

In 2009 Azerbaijan, together with EU corporations, founded an LNG-terminal in the Romanian Constanța, which is now constructed by AGRI consortium.
