Sochi skiing arena to move to Stavropol Territory after Olympic Games

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak supervising preparations for the Sochi Olympic Games of 2014 approved the program for exploitation of sports facilities after the Games, Vedomosti reports.

All facilities built by Olimpstroy will be under control of the Sports Ministry.

The ice-hockey arena will be under control of authorities of the Stavropol Territory. The Central Stadium with 40,000 seats in Sochi will be under control of the Krasnodar Territory for sports competitions and concerts.

The Ural Metallurty Company of Iskandar Mahmoudov decided to put the Shayba skating arena with 7,000 in Sochi under control of Rosimushestvo. Structures of Vladimir Potanin plan to transfer the Russian International Olympic University under state control.

Fate of the Krasnaya Polyana project (Gornaya Karusel tourism complex and Russkiye Gorki skiing complex) is uncertain. It is controlled by Sberbank and will be transferred from Magomed Bilalov to Mikhail Gutseriyev. Communications and infrastructure will become part of the city’s facilities.
