Bulgarian export for EU countries shrinks by 3.6%

In the course of 2012 Bulgaria’s export for the EU has gone down by 3.6% on the previous year, amounting to about EUR 12 billion, National Statistical Institute figures show.

Bulgaria’s major trade partners are Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France, Belgium and Spain, which form 75.6% of the export for EU member states. Bulgaria’s import from EU countries has gone up by 7.5% on the previous year, reaching EUR 15 billion. The largest value quantity belongs to goods imported from Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and Spain. The foreign trade balance between Bulgaria and the EU for 2012 is negative and it is to the cost of EUR 3 billion.
