Over 22 Moldovan servicemen graduate from peacekeeping training courses

Moldovan Defence Ministry has carried out military trainings for a contingent of 22 servicemen from the National Army and for employees of the Interior Ministry (MAI) in order to perform missions in Moldova´s Security Zone.

The head of the National Army´s HQ, Brig. Gen., Igor Cutie, said that the peace keeping in the Eastern districts was one of the most important National Army´s missions meant to ensure the security of the population in the region. «That is why the strict selection of servicemen who serve in the Security Zone and their training according to Western standards is a priority for the National Army´s leadership,» Cutie said.

The servicemen were trained by representatives of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, by members of the Joint Control Commission, academic professors, experts of non-governmental organisations and by officers who participated in international missions under the UN mandate. «So before sending you to mission, our plan was to provide you with full information from the best experts. Only in such conditions, having an excellent training, you will be able to fulfil your duties at the highest level,» Cutie said.

The peacekeeping training course for officers who will serve in Moldova´s Security Zone was carried out at the continuous training centre of the Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy on 18 February-05 March 2013.
