Mass vaccination to be conducted in Georgia due to measles epidemic

Georgian National Disease Control and Public Health Center, in connection with the measles epidemic, will carry out immunization of all country’s citizens, aged below 30, Amiran Gamkrelidze, Center’s representative, declared on March 5.

«Georgia records a serious growth of this disease against the statistics of previous years. All persons, aged from 6 months to 30 years, who are in contact with potential carriers of this disease, must be vaccinated», – Gamkrelidze has stated.

According to him, Georgian Government has already issued the resolution, stating that measles inoculations will be made free of charge, News-Georgia reports.
