Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Turkey involved in seismic safety project

Scientists, central and local government officials from Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Turkey have been working on a project for a Black Sea seismic safety network. The electronic network that will be developed at the end of the project will put together the seismic networks of Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Turkey.

This will spell out automatic links the municipalities in the Black Sea region and to authorities in charge, for the sake of adequate crisis response. The objective is to know where and what earthquake occurred, what the potential threats are and whether the respective country needs aid.
