Ukraine may resume exports of wheat in April

Having significant carry-over stocks of grain, Ukraine may resume wheat its export in April 2013, the President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Leonid Kozachenko told to Interfax-Ukraine.

«I think we will not introduce any restrictions from April because we have a large carry-over stocks ... We can sell more than 2 million tons of wheat more» – said Kozachenko during a press-conference on Thursday.

According to him, current grain reserves totals more than 10 million tons, which is twice more compared to similar date in 2012.

In general, Ministry of Agrarian Policy estimates export potential of the country for the current marketing year at the level of 23.4 million tons of grain. The grain harvest in Ukraine in 2012 totaled 46.2 million tons compared to a record 56.7 million tons in 2011.
