ITAR-TASS director general becomes head of CIS Information Council

ITAR-TASS Director General Sergey Mikhailov has been elected unanimously as the head of the CIS Information Council. He will replace Vitaly Ignatenko who has been in charge of the council for 17 years.

Baku is hosting the 16th session of the council  on February 25, 2013 to discuss cooperation of information agencies, preparations for celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Tajikistan are participating in the talks.
