Bulgarian municipalities to get 6.1 million leva for tourism development

Thirteen municipalities of Bulgaria will get 6.1 million leva as grants in the framework of the operative program called “Regional development” 2007-2013. This money will be provided by the European Regional Development Fund (85%) and the republican budget (10%).

In the framework of this program municipalities will implement a number of development projects in the areas with considerable potential for tourism development and promotion of natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

The list of municipalities to get the financing includes Isperih, Sophia, Varna, Provadia, Kyustendil, Lukovit, Mirkovo, Devon, Blagoevgrad, Velingrad, Lyubimets, Dupnitsa, and Peschera.
