Georgian miners on strike

Miners of the Chiatury shafts of Georgian Manganese have started a mass strike and demand their vacations to be extended from 28 days a year to 45.

The mining administration plans redundancies and re-certification of staff. The plans have provoked demands for dismissal of authorities of the company.

The local miners had been protesting after the parliamentary polls. The company had fulfilled some of their demands back then.
