Slovakia supports Turkey's EU bid

Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said at a Slovakian-Turkish economic forum in Bratislava that his country supported Turkey's bid to become a member of the European Union, TASR reports.

The PM expressed satisfaction with the volumes of trade turnover between the two states, totaling $1.6 billion.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the forum and said that trade turnover will reach $5 billion in 2015. He added that the country was open for cooperation in energy, car manufacturing, tourism, healthcare and agriculture. Slovakia is one of the five states of top priority for Turkey, Erdogan says.
