Russia is main exporter to Turkey

The Turkish Statistical Institute said that foreign trade deficit had dropped by 11.6% in December 2012, compared with 2011, totaling $7.2 billion.

Turkey imported goods worth $2.4 billion from Russia (dropping by 2.9%, compared with December 2011), $2.1 billion from Germany and $1.7 billion from China.

Most products were exported to Iraq, for $1 billion (+10.6%), $989 million to Germany and $694 million to the UAE.

Turkish exports in December 2012 increased by 1.4% to $12.6 billion. Imports dropped by 3.7% to $19.8 billion.
