More than 900 hectares of new orchards and vineyards planted in the Crimea in 2012

In 2012 the Crimea produced 109 thousand tons of fruits and berries, exceeding the 2011 level by 26%, and gathered 75 thousand tons of grapes.

The largest achievements in fruit production were made by farms at the Krasnogvardeysk, Nizhnegorsk, and Bakhchysarai districts due to the rise in crop capacity of young intensive-type apple gardens. 446 hectares of new gardens and 461 hectares of vineyards were planted in 2012.

83 million hryvnya from the budget gardening and viticulture development program were allocated to the Crimean agricultural producers in 2012.
