Companies from six countries willing to monitor rehabilitation works within Compact Programme in Moldova

As many as eight companies from six countries: Romania, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Moldova, took part in a competitive selection within a project on restoring the irrigation systems in Lopatna village, Criuleni raion, carried out within the Compact Programme of the US Government.  
 
According to a press release of the Compact Program, the applications of these companies were publicly opened on January 14, 2013. A special commission will have to select just one of these applications.

In line with the bidding rules of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the packs with documents were opened in the presence of the companies’ representatives, whereas the content of the bids was introduced into a special register. The financial applications were placed into a special box, which will be opened after the examination of the technical proposals.  

The companies’ bids will be examined in the nearest future by a commission made up of local and international independent experts.

The selected company will be entitled to supervise the construction works in progress, as well as to certify the quality of the building materials and of the carried out activities. At the same time, this company will put forth special social and environmental requirements to the construction firms. The Moldovan authorities and the selected monitoring company will conclude a two-year contract.

At the same time, the Millennium Challenge Fund Moldova is conducting a contest for selecting companies for building pumping stations. Applications to this tender can be submitted by February 5.
