Moldovan farmers to receive second tranche of financial assistance by late March 2013

Moldovan agricultural producers will receive the second tranche of financial assistance for sowing winter wheat, by late March 2013, said the Director of the Agency for Payments and Interventions in Agriculture, Petru Maleru.

In his words, farmers who have bank accounts received the first tranche of 119 lei per each hectare of sowed farmlands, by December 31, 2012.

«Yet, not all the farmers have opened bank accounts. Thus, they will receive the state subsidies via the territorial agencies of Posta Moldovei. Over 13 thousand natural persons and over 2,077 economic agents, who sowed 288.7 thousand hectares of winter wheat, will receive this assistance,» said Maleru.

At the same time, the authorities are distributing subventions for purchasing fodders for bovine cattle.

The Government allotted about 60 million lei for the partial compensation of expenses for the winter sowing. Yet, farmers claim that instead of 200 lei per each hectare, the state must allot them at least 500 lei/hectare.
