Russia boosts Caspian Sea naval group

Russia's Caspian Flotilla will receive five surface ships and boats in 2013. The increase with new tools is planned in accordance with the state arms program.

Press service of the Southern Military District reports that, in accordance with the concept of fleet development until 2020 the Caspian Flotilla will also receive two offshore and one inshore tug and floating crane.

Some of the new ships are equipped with missiles and develop a speed up to 25 knots.
