Intersystem gas pipeline between Bulgaria and Serbia is to be constructed

The construction of an intersystem gas pipeline, linking Bulgaria with Serbia will kick off in 2013, thus improving the diversification of gas supplies.

That was stated at a press conference by Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Evgenia Haritonova. In her words the gas markets in the region will unite in this way and Bulgaria will get connected with the gas hub in Baumgarten, Austria. There will be a link with the Hungarian repositories too.

Bulgaria on the other hand will be able to send Mediterranean and Caspian gas for Central Europe after 2014, when the gas link with Greece will function already. The implementation of intersystem links with neighboring countries will contribute significantly to the development of this country’s gas market, Mrs. Haritonova went on to say.
