Ukraine wants to take billion loan from the IMF again

The first tranche of the IMF's new credit line will be available in February-March 2013. This was stated by a source in the National Bank, writes the newspaper «Kommersant-Ukraine».

According to the publication, the head of the National Bank Sergei Arbuzov said that the postponement of the visit of the IMF does not become an obstacle to the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.

«The visit of the mission was moved at my initiative, as were unknown time appointment of the new government and the IMF did not know with whom to negotiate. Equally urgent was the question of the state budget of Ukraine, - he explained. - In addition, in the U.S. soon will be holidays, then they will start in Ukraine. »

According to the source in the NBU, the first tranche of the IMF's new credit line will be available in February-March 2013.

«The volume of credit from the IMF is expected at about the same level as before - about $ 12 billion. Possible amount of the first tranche - $ 500 million in favor of the National Bank and $ 1 billion - the government,» - said the source.

According to the report, this should help the Ukrainian authorities to resolve the issue involves payment to the old IMF loans. Near maturity on IMF loans - January 30. In January-February, the government will return the IMF 740 million dollars, and the National Bank will transfer him to another 595 million dollars.

Let us recall, it was expected that the visit of the IMF mission will begin on December 7, but it was postponed to the second half of January.
