Bulgaria will not appoint date for start of Macedonian EU accession negotiations

President Rosen Plevneliev and PM Boyko Borissov discussed in Sofia Bulgaria’s stance, regarding the appointment of a date for the start of Macedonia’s negotiations for EU membership.

It was voiced to media after the meeting that at the forthcoming Thursday sitting of the EC Bulgaria will be among those member-states that won’t appoint a date for the start of these negotiations.

This country upholds Macedonia’s EU perspective, but this is not an unconditional support and it depends on the meeting of the membership criteria, where good neighboring relations are a priority, a message of the president’s press service reads.
