Kherson Customs continues to block deliveries of Romanian fuel to Ukraine

LLC «Rompetrol-Ukraine» (Odessa) is continuing to experience difficulties with customs clearance of gasoline imported from Petromedia refinery (Constanta, Romania) to Ukrainian market, said the company’s press service on November 27.

According to the company, as of November 26 about 15 thousand tons of A-95 gasoline were kept in Kherson port, this gasoline had been awaiting customs clearance since November 7.

As people from Rompetrol note, Customs representatives stated about the need to check the quality of imported fuel. Customs Service took appropriate samples on November 13, and the legislation gives a maximum of 30 days for analysis with possible extension of up to 45 days.

Rompetrol believes claims to the quality of its petroleum products to be baseless, noting that the same products are sold in Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Spain, France and other EU countries. In Ukrainian market Rompetrol fuel is sold through networks like Socar, Shell, «OKKO» and other premium-sector operators.
