197 earthquakes already registered in the Crimean part of the Black Sea region in 2012

According to the information from the Crimean expert council on seismic risk assessment and earthquake forecasts, the chain of seismic station registered and processed 1055 earthquakes during the period from January 1 till October 31, 2012, and 197 of them were local or took place nearby (the Crimean part of the Black Sea region).

A seismic lull is noted in the region, indicative of the accumulation of seismic energy. No other clearly expressed anomalies in the fields under research were detected in January – October 2012.
