Moldova, Czech Republic sign development cooperation agreement

The Moldovan and Czech governments signed a development cooperation agreement on November 23, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

Government's Secretary-General Victor Bodiu and Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil have signed the document.

The agreement is meant to improve Moldova's social and economic development, ensure a stable and prosperous environment by setting up cooperation ties, based on partnership and transparency.

On behalf of the Moldovan government, Bodiu praised the high-level dialogue and bilateral ties, touching upon the efficiency of the implementation of current projects.

Jaromir Kvapil said this agreement will contribute to the development of Moldova's economic sectors, reiterating the support of the Czech government for the implementation of bilateral projects.

«This agreement is rather important for the Moldovan-Czech ties, whereas it will speed up Moldova's integration into the European family. We are firmly confident that Moldova has no other choice than to continue its European integration process,» Kvapil said.

So far, the Czech Republic implemented projects amounting to about 14 million euros in Moldova, whereas this tendency will be maintained in the future as well, by enlarging the amount of investments. Bilateral projects have been implemented in the ecology, water and sewerage, social and education sectors.
