Turkey has tightened requirements for tourists’ passports

According to the Russian Tourism Agency (Rostourism), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey has announced a new mandatory requirement for a passport to enter the country. Beginning with 2013 all passports must have a blank page for applying stamps.

Until December 31, 2012, if there is no free space in a passport, foreign citizens will be issued nonreusable entry and exit forms for putting entry and exit stamps, visa stamps or marks. Travellers must have the paper with them during the entire period of stay in Turkey and must present it to border guards when leaving the country. Since the beginning of 2013, foreign citizens who come to Turkey without a blank page in their passports will be send back without entry procedures.

The new requirement is particularly topical for those tourists who get a visa upon arrival to Turkey.
