SOCAR becomes major gas exporter to Georgia

Former Georgian Energy and Finance Minister Alexander Khetaguri has been appointed director general of the Itera Georgia Company.

SOCAR Energy Georgia said Itera Georgia was acquired by SOCAR's subsidiary Alphard (Gas) Holding BV.

Itera Georgia's assets include 10 gas distribution companies in Georgia.

Alphard (Gas) Holding BV intends to improve customers' gas supply and ensure conditions for new customers joining the gas network within the acquired networks.

Khetaguri was previously minister of energy and finance and general director of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation.
